FAQ

You have questions? We have answers!

Q- Does insurance cover chiropractic?

A-

Most major medical insurance covers chiropractic services. Our friendly staff will verify your insurance benefits for you and discuss that on your first visit. Our doctors are participating providers in most insurance companies to better help our patients receive care. We strive to offer the best opportunity for every individual regardless of insurance coverage.

Q- Does it hurt? Is it safe?

A-

The purpose of an adjustment is to restore motion and function to a joint. Because joints are made up of bone, ligaments, and tendons, patients can expect to experience mild discomfort after their first adjustment. This discomfort is typically relatable to a muscle fatigue. The best way to combat it is to use moist heat (or ice, whichever your doctor recommends with your individual condition) to alleviate the tightness in the muscles.

Our office only utilizes treatments that have been proven by research to be safe and effective for the conditions we treat. Recent research, in medical journals such as Spine, has proven that spinal manipulation, or adjustments, are safe effective treatments for back pain, neck pain, and other conditions. The risks associated with manipulation are very small.

Q- Is it true that once your go to a chiropractor, you have to go for the rest of your life?

A-

The short answer is no, once you go to a chiropractor it is not necessary to go for the rest of your life. Chiropractic is not a magic cure-all. A typical course of treatment begins with a course of 3-6 adjustments depending on the condition and the patient. After the initial course of care is complete, further care will be discussed between the doctor and the patient if needed.
